Default Where do you shift? and a question about vtec -

Being an s2k owner for only about 2 weeks now, but driven only a week in full so far.

Wondering where you guys typically shift (RPM WISE). This is in reference to standard daily driving, I'm so used to shifting low since i came from a GSR Civic. I feel like the S2K tells me "DUDE ****ING EAT YOUR HEART OUT AND DRIVE ME LIKE A BEAST!"

Haha.
I was also wondering what was the OEM RPM range of where VTEC actually engages, i tuned the civic to engage at 43RPM, and stock was 45 if im not mistaken. Wondering where the s2k engagement is.

If I'm just tooling around I shift around 4k once the car is warm, 3k-3500 before. If I'm not being followed by a cop I shift at 9!

VTEC engages right around 6k.. could be a little higher based on conditions (mainly throttle input).

I generally shift about 4k, vtec engages at 6k.

i generally shift no lower than 3K as there is little power to do anything, but lately i see myself shifting closer to 4 on a more regular basis. I still get awesome gas mileage and the car just sounds so good to resist.

Daily driving shift points - usually between 3500 and 5000, depending on the situation. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower...depends on the traffic situation, location, weather. One point of advice - if the roads are wet, keep the revs at or below 4000 and pay attention to your throttle input. You have an AP1 which can get tail happy if driven wild in the wet.
As for VTEC, stock engagement point is 6000 RPM I believe. So your stock range would be 6000-9000 RPM for VTEC.

What, you came from a Civic with a GSR motor and you shifted low? That for some reason does not make sense...haha!!

For daily driving u can drive it just like your GSR, shift between 2500 and 3500, saves gas

As for vtec if you cant find it yourself you need to drive your car harder

take it to redline every shift, shit you can do it as long as you own the car w/o breaking anything assumingly your not abusive and give general maintenance to your whip.
