Default Where does your car sleep?

I'm curious to see how many people do not have a garage to keep there car in.

I am about to build my house. I had originally planned to build a large detached garage, but in pricing out everything I am thinking I need to sacrifice my garage for right now and build it in the future.
I will build a porte-cochere to keep her under for now, and once my garage is built my guest will use my porte-cochere.

Spa Yellow '02 S2000 on order. It will live in the rented garage next to the apartment I'm in, parked next to its little sister the Red '90 CRX-Si.
I decided to buy the car this year and just spent a fair share of the house downpayment.

My S2000 lives in my Garage under a loft.

The loft was the first thing I built when
we moved into the house. It seemed such
shame to waste all the space above the little
S2K. The car fits nicely and is well protected
from the "rake" hazards of a normal garage.
The storage area I I created is rather large
as you can imagine. I takes up about 1/2 of
the garage. I store my Mountain bikes,
camping gear and a boatload of other useless
stuff up there.

I didn't see an option for "right next to me, in my bed..."

Come on John, I'm shocked that you aren't building a door right into the bedroom so that your S2000 can be close at hand at all times!

My answer: garage

Mine is in the 2 car garage w/ my BMW, and Lotus

Well to explain better it's a 2 car garage, but the Lotus parked sideways is so small it fits in front of the S parked in front and The BMW beside it.

And I leave my Lexus outside in the dark scarry huh...

My S2000 stays parked in the garage next to my John Deere lawnmower!

I always wonder that if machines could talk. . .what types of conversations they would share!

My wife's Accord stays outside. . .but we have nothing to worry about here!

I voted "out in the elements" since there's no garage at my apartment.

But at work I park in a nice, climate controlled, underground garage. Given the choice of one or the other, I'd rather have a garage 9-5 during the day when it's hot and sunny (San Diego weather), and have the car outside night and morning.

I have a car cover too, which helps for stints in the sun greater than a couple hours. I recommend one.

Actually Sondra it is funny you mention that. At one time I was visualizing parking my car IN my living room. What better sculpture/art/decoration to look at than an S2000 in your living room?
In designing my house I am reaching for the philosophy and the feel of "ease and openness". Right now, my house consist of six 12 foot wide sliding doors. However, at one time I had entertained the idea of using two 27 foot wide and one 16 foot wide Doors around my Living room. Weiland Sliding Doors and windows Inc. located in California will build a door to any size or shape you ask and they fit well to the aesthetic demands of such a unique architectural project as mine. But then I realized that I really was way too obsessed with my car, and that normal people do not need or want the ability to drive into there living room !
My lot is too steep anyway. It would be too expensive to build a driveway that could go all the way to the level of my house. As of right now, my driveway circles above where my house will go (this is where my porte-cochere will go) and you will go down a circular stair to get down the 15 foot sheer cliff immediately in front of my house.
