Mine engages near the top also. I think I'm going to have it adjusted.

Stock, 3900km, releasing half way very nice from the 1st day, just getting a little firmer now.

I noticed on a new MY04 it was releasing at the very top and I had to get used to it.

MY04 with about 10,500 miles, engages about middle of stroke. I would like to adjust so that it will engage near the top but did not have time or skill to do it.

'04 10,300 miles, middle of stroke. If it was a bleeding problem it would be the bottom of the stoke. It sounds like an adjustment issue.

I did the my04+ clutch slave mod a while back and right after bleeding the clutch it engaged about 2" off the floor. The more I drove it the longer the pedal became until it went back to engaging about 60% away from the floor,( normal for my car). I bled it again with the same results. The first, say 10, strokes of the clutch pedal engaged almost right at the floor. It then slowly started to engage further and further until it was back to 60%. I have no idea why.

I've got an 03 with 17.5K miles on it and it releases at the very top. This has been my single biggest complaint with the car so far. I attempted to adjust it but it appears that their isn't many threads left on the adjustment screw to play with. I gave it about an 1/8 of a turn and it helped a bit.

No matter how many miles I put on this car I can't seem to get used to it's lousy clutch pedal release point.
