Default While filling up with gas...

You know the little one-way check valve (flapper valve) that you push the fuel nozzle through to fill your gas tank? Well, I noticed that mine is not there anymore last night. Where did it go? I think it is sitting on the bottom of the tank now. I called my dealer to ask about getting it looked into and they thought it would be a good idea, but wait until I burn through this tank of gas.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? Will the unattached valve interfer with anything in the fuel system (filters, pump, etc...)? What was involved with fixing it? Thanks.
Jack

My S2k has never had one. I thought it strange at first too, but I guessed that it was that way on purpose.

Jack - first off - glad to see you're still alive

Second off - I just ran outside to make sure, but I don't have the flap either. You sure you're not just getting old and seeing things

Third off - if the car doesn't come with a flap normally, then I wonder what kind of crack your dealer is smoking and why I didn't get any (assuming you brought it back to the Flag).

Thanks for the sanity check and quick response Alex and others.

1. I'm still alive.
2. I am getting older, but not seeing as much as I used to (obviously).
3. It was some crack that I spoke to at CF service, but I might as well have been on it too!
Are you working today? Hope business is good. I saw a nice Berlina in the showroom yesterday. Take care.

New Jersey is one of the last places that doesn't trust their residents to pump their own gas

I was promoted to Corporate last May, so I have weekends off now

Yeah, that Berlina is - I'm trying to get us another S2Kier with it right now.
