Second: Why wouldn't they sell white HTs if they produce white S2000s AND sell color matched HTs for S2000?
Third:
I hate to break it to you, but that Miata that you point to is a second generation Miata and came stock with fixed headlights, not unlike the many S2000s in the very same picture. Only the first gen Miata had pop-up headlights. Even Mazda figured out that pop-up headlights offered little benefit, reduced reliability, AND WERE JUST PLAIN OUT-OF-DATE!!!

If you look in the Hyper Rev (not the newest version, the one before it) There is a spa yellow S with a white hardtop. And it looks pretty good. You would have to get white wheels to pull it off in my opinion.
There is a silverstone with a yellow HT that looks horrble too

Yeah I could see it working if you had white wheels, and maybe some white graphics on the car... otherwise it just looks like a big sunny-side-up egg.
