Default Whitish dot on instrument panel

This may sound like a "secret compartment" thread. There is a 5mm whitish looking dot just to the right of my trip odometer. It does not illuminate or having any legend built into it. It does not show in the owner's manual or Helms.

Anyone know what this is?

don't touch it or it will blow the weld off your intake manifold.

I know what he's talking about, I just figured it was a light sensor but with no auto dimming/auto lights/etc I couldn't figure out why it would be a light sensor.. that's about all the thought I've put into it tho..

There's a LED for the OEM alarm? I'll have to lurk around my car and look as though I'm about to steal it....
