Who else found the secret switch for the security system?
After having the car for almost 17 months, I actually came across a secret pushbutton switch. Well, it's not exactly secret (like the secret compartment).....but it's been hiding all this time under my left knee - fixed to the underside of the dash! (It just goes to show how many times I've put my head down there.) I didn't even see it when I installed the dead pedal.
Just by chance, on the same day I discovered this switch, someone posted a link to the installation instructions for the optional Honda security alarm. There in the instructions is the installation of the secret switch. The question is.......what is it for? As I didn't get any info on the optional alarm system (which came with the car), I have no idea what it does. Can anyone enlighten me? Could it possibly be the passenger ejector button, supercharger engager, or manual-automatic changeover switch? (I had so many forced options when I bought the car, I can't remember which ones I actually paid for now.)

Just guessing it's an override switch, which is activated when you turn the ignition on, allowing you to shut off the alarm, assuming your batteries in the remote are dead. I don't have the alarm, so this is just a guess.
Its the valet switch. Leave the key out of the ignition and hold the button for 3 seconds to disable the alarm. Do the same thing to turn it on. I found it when I was looking all over to turn on my alarm. I bought my car used and thought the dealer may have left it in valet mode. Now I think they turned off the main unit.
You would think that the alarm would require the key to put it in valet mode. I had a Viper in a previous car and it did. Seems unsafe. Maybe not.

Oh.. I just found out.. if the alarm is going off then you need the key in the ignition and then press the switch. That will shut it off.
Also with the key out again press the switch 3 times within 5 seconds to find out specifically what alarm sensor was tripped and then the alarm light will blink:
1 - Door
2 - Trunk
3 - System Switches
4 - Glass Breakage
5 - Hood
My button however, launches Boxster-Driving-Yuppie seeking missles. Gets them off my tail real fast.

Well you know, (insert English accent) I was back over in England getting some work on the Aston Martin and Lotus done so I stopped in and brought the Honda in to Q. Thought the old chap could do something with it. (Bond joke).

Now here's a dilema......
The Z3 was the first Beamer to appear in a Bond film (playing a very short role in GoldenEye). It featured all of the usual gadgets from the Q Branch, plus a set of stinger missiles. (I guess that means they are now standard on all Z3s.)
I wonder what Q can dream up for the S2000 which will counteract those dastardly stinger missiles? Anti-stinger missile deflectors?
