Question Who has ever had one of those close calls in the S

Okay i know that by law i would be at fault by this, but that is why it made me so upset. I looked down for a second and saw my girlfreind was switching the FM to AM on my radio and then all of sudden omggg watch out!!!! from her.... I went into evaution mode. I crapped my pants as this happened BTW. The Car infront of me decieded to stomp on his brakes when he saw the yellow light. So take this into consideration... The light was green the second i looked down... then it turned yellow... and all of sudden this guy decided that he should flat out stop. He was not paying attention to his surroundings as much as i was..so he did not see me coming at the normal rate of speed and not slowing down. So when i looked up i see Toyota Corrola Lights in my face.... i swirved over the the side turning lane had to run the red light while avoiding turning oncoming traffic. I had about lets say one person away from hitting him. I believe if i was in my daily driver (caviler 96) i would of been toast. I appreciated the S... because this car was so responsive to my brute steer i had to pull after the harsh braking i did. Anyhow... i was stunned that after a night of getting chineese food I had to encounter and accident. Call me stupid call me lucky, but i thank god i did not hit that damn corrolla. Not going to take the S out for a while now. Anyone else have a story like this with the S?

All-season tires out back, S-10s up front, and sand don't mix! Second night I had my S I was getting off a highway on one of those declining-radius turns. Pushed her a little too far for the all-season to handle then hit a patch of sand and spun a few times, a 760 iirc.Wouldn't have been so bad but a) a lot of traffic was coming and b) I was inside a tunnel will gnarly concrete walls on each side.....soooooo thankful I was able to keep it between the walls and out of traffic!!!!!!!!!!

by the way after the almost accident... a red ricer came up next to me and told me good driving man! I don't know if he was being sarcastic or not. I did not care... I was just happy to leave alive. I had a seat belt on of course... but my girlfreind did not like always. I yelled at her after to put it on, but she is very ignorant when it comes to that and does not like to wear it what so ever, so that got me even more upset that minutes after almost being smashed to the front of my windsheild she still refuses to put a belt on.

I don't get it. You're mad at the guy in front of you for braking when you weren't paying attention?

Time is popular variable in physics equations. I can't emphasize this enough in training. I pound the point, over and over and over and over again. Let's take your example and assume your driving 45 MPH. The camry notices your momentary lapse of reason and decides to stop the moment hte light turns yellow, who knows, maybe it was still green!! Either way these types of drivers know if they stop eventually the light will turn red. This stupidity will continue until either: they are shot or rearended. Anyway, this is VERY common and its 100% your fault. OK, maybe some blame on your gf for distracting part of your brain, and why not blame Honda because their hands free stereo controlls suck. Either way while fiddling for just one second, you missed 65 feet of road. That is a lot of road.

You posted here and expected what? Someone to kiss your boo boo? When you post here you're always up for criticism. Just be glad that you didn't eat shit because of your mistake and you're still here.

The worst thing that happened was something similar. I was in the right lane and in front of me there was a taxi cruising around. At some point completely out of the blue he hit on the brakes BIG time, in order to get a passenger that he saw the last moment. I looked in tens of a second to my side mirror and hard turned the steering to the left avoiding crashing behind him. Unfortunately the car behind me didnt react as fast as I did and end-up hitting the taxi. Nobody was hurt and felt for the moment that I caused the accident, but I would had crashed between them!

Anyway, it was a tough call! But you, my friend were very lucky for not crashing as well!

Yes. The Madman possesses driving skillz that professionals don't.

Many years ago, I was lost like you until someone taught me otherwise. It all happened one Saturday morning while shredding tires in the best canyon in the United States while driving the world
