Default Who leaves their top on ?

How many hardtop owners enjoy their fixed roof so much that you don't want to remove it to enjoy the open air ? I very much enjoy the hardtop as much as the soft. What would be the long term affects on the soft top having it permanently folded (with a modified pool noodle and towel to protect the window) ?

I don't enjoy the hardtop as much because being taller my line of vision in the hardtop isn't as great as having the top down.

I have my HT on about 1/2 the year. I never really wanted a convertible in the first place but having it is kinda nice (and different), so although I'm a bit tardy in the spring about taking it off, it does eventually come off. It's like having two different kinds of cars in one. This may be one of the reasons why I haven't sold it already. Each new season brings a new "feel" and it seems like I have a brand new car all over again.

Keeping the soft top folded for long periods of time is no big deal. It's sound like you've taken the necessary precautions to keep it safe. I make sure the last "fold down" of the season is done in stages so I can go and tuck all the folds in neatly as it goes down. I also have the static cling tint to prevent the vibration from scratching the plastic window. Your noodle will do about the same. I also have a soft material in the roof well to protect the inside of the window. I also treat it with a protectant within a few weeks of the final fold. When I finally take the HT off, I make sure that the soft top has been exposed to the heat of the sun adequately before operating it. This will reduce the chance of an accidental crack in the plastic on the first unfold.

When I had my S, I kept the HT on 95% of the time. Partly because I liked the "coupe version" of the car, and partly because I didn't have much opportunity to remove the HT and nowhere to store it.

Honestly, I never did anything with my softtop other than hit the switch. Never had a problem with it when the HT was removed. Flipped right back up with no issues at all.

You live in Texas. Does it get down to -38*C there?

I'm the same way and like the look of the hardtop.

It's cool that the car can be transformed so easily and looks just as good in either form.

I feel like I got two cars.

out of ill knowledge last year I left the Hardtop on during the winter. All I had in the springtime was more pronounced creases in the soft top, but those were gone after I had the softtop up for an extended peroid of time!

My hardtop is on 95% of the time. I think it makes the car look more exotic and different. Around here our car is damn popular.

Plus I took my soft top out, so when the hardtop does come off, there has to be 0% chance of rain.

It's one of the few "mods" IMO that can increase the resale value of your car. If you ever sell it.

Yeah, but next to a super-charger or some very high end rims, its also one of the more expensive mods.

Don't get me wrong, I love the HT on the car, but saying that it will increase resale can be kind of misleading.

When was the last time you fried an egg in your driveway?
