Even if its not raining, would you really leave your s2000 with its top down when you park? What if a vandel decides they wanta touch the leather, or steal something from the interior or what not... It only takes 6 seconds to put the top up, i assume most people would.

I never leave my top down unattended. That's just asking for trouble. I'll leave it down when I go grab some coffee or something but always sit within sight of it.

I only leave the car unattened with the top down if it's within shooting distance of where I will be.

maybe there's not too much crime where I live, but I 've gone days without having to put the top up. I never keep anything too valuable in the car anyways.

Proper question for me is. When is the Top up? It is down all the time, mall, shopping, home. I have had convertibles for 15 years, and nothing worth while has ever been stollen out of my cars.

Although a cat did some business in my TR4 once that stunk

Crime isn't a problem where I live... I'll leave it down when I go out to restaurants and stuff like that, but I do lock the little compartment.

The top is only left down if I am in a store where I can see the vehicle, or if I will literally be in and out of a venue.

Leave it down at least 25 days out of 30. Leave it down at work and use the cockpit cover from Covercraft for protection from birds, trash, sun, etc. Keeps the car a lot cooler than with the top up.
The car is my daily driver so I park it at work with the top down. I figure if a person wants my seats or other parts a soft top is not going to stop them.
