I was going to buy one after I saw it's release in europe. Electric roof, standard spoiler, DOHC VTEC. But then Honda gave us a stupid downgrade for the USA. By the time they added DOHC it was too late. I had already got a GSR!

I had one when living in England though it was called a CRX rather than the 'del sol'.

Had all the stuff Destiny just wrote about though no way did the VTEC resemble what I feel in the S2K.

For some reason, it dropped the VTEC version and soon lost its appeal.

While I owned the GSR I test drove the DOHC Del Sol. The difference in midrange power was really hard to believe. I knew I wouldn't be able to live with it.

Yep, '93 Del Sol SI was my first Honda. The year before they came out with the "real" VTEC motor in them. I remember it well....rice rice baby Lime green with the big ass spoiler and factory GREEN honda rims.

Then Passport, Prelude SH and now the S.

My Honda history...

New CRX Si ----> New del Sol VTEC ----> New S2000.

I've seen a lot of disrespect for the poor del Sol on this site but when it came out it had the highest normally aspirated output per liter (the "VTEC" model in the US that is): 1.8 liter @ 180bhp. Hmmm, that sounds like the designation the S2000 now holds except it's 120bhp per liter now! I spanked quite a few unsuspecting racers with my del Sol. BTW, I had SOLMAN on my license plate .

you sir are mistaken, the del Sol never came with a 1.8l making 180hp
the largest engine that came in the sol was the B16a, with the USDM del Sol VTEC making 160 hp and the JDM del Sol SiR making 170 hp

and as you can see, I started, and am still on my sol
