Who wants a single exhaust
I have been telling people that Thermal Research is going to do a an Exhaust system on my car and a lot of you have been asking for a single exhaust system. Please post here and give your comments on why you want I single instead of a dual exhaust so I can let the owner of Thermal Research read it and know that their is a demand for it. Also he only uses stainless steel and won't make them out of titanium (not enough demand).
People want single canister for the weight savings. I think a lot of guys would want the weight benefits of titanium. Ask that guy how many buyers does he need to work that material in. 10, 15, 20 guys? I think a lot of guys like the Amuse exhaust except it's either too expensive or too loud. Keep the price fair for a titanium single canister exhaust and buyers will come.
I've been thinking about a custom built single. I'd like to save some weight and have a deep sound. I'd like to have something like the J's racing unit but don't want to spend the money for it at this time. If they could build a quality unit and prove with before and after dyno's that it didn't rob power and do it at a price point similar to the Neuspeed exhaust I would be very interested.
I want a single exhaust for the following reasons:
1. Weight - with comparable materials it will significantly lighter than a dual exhaust.
2. Performance - the flow path for the stock dual exhaust, or even an aftermarket one, is less than ideal. Probably results in uneven flow to the mufflers. This may be intentional to create a certain sound profile, but I want max flow.
While I'd like Titanium piping, the extra 10 lbs it would save probably isn't worth the several hundred dollars it would cost (retail). I would like either a Ti or CF end can. The CF in particular should be pretty cheap and readily available. The system should also have a midpipe resonator like the stock system to keep annoying harmonics down.
If such a system were made available for $600 or less (CF) or under $500 with a traditional muffler, I'd buy one. I think that's a little steep for a muffler system, but I'm willing to pay extra for a Thermal product.

Yo, single exhaust candidate right here! Needs to be cat-back only (legal in stock class racing AND on the street), as light as possible (yeah I read about no Ti, but keep it light anyway), serious rumble without evil resonances.
Oh, and while I don't expect massive HP gains I also don't want to lose any HP. I've been saving my pennies for the Amuse or Spoon single but it breaks my mind to spend that much on a big tube.
