Default Who's had more than one exhaust on their S2000?

I'm trying to decide which exhaust I want to get and after browsing and searching this forum, I'm not any closer to making a decision. At this point I can picture myself buying and trying two or more different exhausts before finding one I like best.

Is there anyone who's tried more than one exhaust on your S? Which one did you like most? What are the pros and cons for each one?

I've had three so far. Spugen Ti Duals, B&B(RM), and now Fujitsubo. First one was defective, cracked second one at the track during a spinout, and last one I'm very happy with and most gains up top.

Owning an exhaust is so subjective. You're gonna get a list of exhausts that say are not too loud, too loud, great gains, weigh 20 lbs, weigh 6 lbs... You'll see pics, you'll see movies, you'll hear clips....

The only way is to see one and hear one in person. Everyone has their own definition of noise, rice, droning etc....

Look up a few guys, meet with them, drive with them. Its the only way to know for sure. Otherwise, its a crapshoot.

By the way, get a T1R

Since the stock exhaust is damn near perfect out of the factory a cheaper alternative would be to just replace the stock mufflers with aftermarket ones. You will still get the look and sound change, maybe pick up a couple of ponies and save yourself a considerable amount of money. I just put Magna flow mufflers on mine for $200 installed at a local muffler shop. It's a low deep tone that's very pleasant sounding at all rpm's and actually gets quieter the higher you climb in rpm's.

Stock - Comptech dual - Veilside Teardrop single - Jic S/S - Ti single
Comptech sounded awesome but was as heavy as stock and looked better.
Veilside was the lightest and by far the loudest - To loud for me actually!
JIC Bullet Ti is just right I will keep this exhaust for many years to come

I went from stock to Tanabe Hyper Medallion to JIC stainless/Ti single.

I was very happy with the look and sound of the Tanabe. The only reason I swithed was because I came across a great deal

The JIC is a little loud for some but I think the shriek at high RPM makes up for any droning or rumbling you may get down low. And it just looks plain mean.

I never really noticed any power gains or losses with either ehaust.

Another thing you could do is find other people to let you eperience their exhausts. No need to buy two

From what I've seen, heard, and driven here are my favorites:

Hope that helped a little

I went from Stock to HK$ to Stock to INVIDIA.

Over all, I love the invidia, but it is extremely loud. I mean cant hear your passengers loud without the silencers. I refuse to put them in since it would be like locking a horse in a barn all it's life. Gotta let them ponies out!!

BTW, check this link for some info on different exhausts and sound clips :

stock / apexi ws / spoon / invidia custom single

apexi ws was nice and quiet, a lot of bling factor, gave my car ass jewelery with the sweet polished SS cans. heavy, no power gains, aluminized piping tends to rust at the joints, but no where nearly as bad as HKS.

spoon sounded the best, but a bit too loud for me. lots of droning and with the silencer installed, WOT sounds like a air compressor on speed. definitely the lightest, some power gains, full stainless, has the "i'm not here to be pretty, and if you know what i am, then you know what i represent" look.

invidia custom single is what i have now.. kinda like an experiment with SS and pipe tuning. its loud and brash, with the silencer it sounds like the spoon. light, minimal power gains, pretty blue-ing of the pipes.

i'm going back to stock soon, but before i do, im going to amputate the resonator/cylinder/penis thing first.
