Default Why am I still reading s2ki's forums?

Last november I got the 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2, a car that always wanted... I wanna be able to say someday: 'I had a 911', 'I know what is it' or quotes like this..., and this is true: There is no handling like Carrera's handling. It pushes rawness than the S, for example, is more rought, like running with your hands over the road, a telepatic response... incredible noise and like-a-rock constructed...

Basically, the power and torque feeling that it gives between 4000 and 6500 is the same that my last MCBlue S2000 had between 7000 and 9000, so theres no point about discussing its capatibilies...

But I visit s2ki everyday and rennlist.com only a few times...

Why is happening?, Why my Messenger avatar is still a MC Blue convertible? Why I turn green simply watching an opened Miata? Why I always refuse to visit the friend that bought my S2000 and chat along? (A very very happy friend, of course)

Does anybody wants a timeless classic, insuperable handling, with a very recent $5000 top end rebuild (all strokes and guides), clutch, exhaust and brakes job?

(Maybe I had to post this in rennlist, but I feel more like in home here...)

I miss it too much!!

youre a car addict like the rest of us. you will never be fully satisfied without a change in perspective... even owning every car you ever loved would not fix this problem, because you will always search for a way to improve the car, or second guess mods/choices you made in the past.

i got rid of my miata for my S and still manage to miss it, despite the fact that the S offers so much more. i just realized i am overthinking things, and need to CHILL.

plus this forum :rocks:

hehe... this list is usually more friendly than rennlist. So many "german car only" snobs.

I understand how you feel. I sold my S2000 almost 2 years ago so I could buy a real Formula car. I love driving the race car, it's faster and handles much better than the S2000 but I still miss the Honda. Heck, I still miss the Miata I had before the S2K also.

Oh yeah, I'm here everyday also and the background on my desktop is my S2000 on the track.

Hey, aren't you the guy who made the S2000 video in memorial of selling it? Just from the video I could tell you were going to miss it. Open air motoring... there is no substitute .

Yes, I am

I've removed the video from my web hosting because it overrided my bandwidth limit and also because I've used a little clip of a s2ki member footage without credit him (i'did knew that until he told it to me a little bit ungry

So, when modifying this issue, I will share it again on the web for a couple of days and then in eMule, and I'will encourage everybody to do it via eMule too.

Until then, U can checkout some pics here (S2000) or here (911)

It's easy to be seduced by the classic manufacturers and models.

Before I decided on the S2000, I looked for used Boxsters and Boxster S and used M Coupes and a bunch of older 911s. I've even considered the upcoming Lotus Elise. But the S2000 is as much fun as any of them, better handling than most, and a better value than all of them. It's also got reliability on it's side which makes it much less of a headache.

Like any car enthusiast with an appreciation of design and engineering, I'll never be satisfied with any one car. And although I really think the S2000 is a great car, I'll be ready to move on in time. Like computers, cars become obsolete. New stuff catches your eye. The fact that many enthusiasts want "no argument recognition" that they drive a great car leads people away from the Honda name. Those who know the S2000 is appreciate it, but the average guy doesn't give credit to a Honda car that certainly deserves more than it gets. Let's face it, a 1998 Boxster will impress more people than a new S2000 ... because the average person only knows that Porsche = sports car & expensive.

I've always sold my old cars with a sense of regret. They were all good in their own way. But they're not children - just machines. You can't get too attached. Besides, the replacement cars have been just an enjoyable, but maybe in different ways.

As for me, the S2000 will be fun for a while. But after a few years of personal enjoyment with a soft-top car, I might be following your lead and moving on to a Porsche. Although my choice would likely be a new Boxster Coupe. And I want to pick it up in Stuttgart. That's my dream. Maybe by 2008.

While I agree that most people eventually begin to yearn for something different and "new", it would be hard for me to move to a coupe and not have a roadster or ragtop of some sort to enjoy the top down, open air driving. I've always been an outdoor type of person though...

Yep, I must admit that one of the reasons of my nostalgic attitude with the S2000 is the fact that the 911 was not as clean as it seemed, and had to invest a bit more to set it properly.

FOLKS!! It's near TWO months working on it, 2 months without car. My beater car is broken TOO and so, I HAVE NO CAR AND TOMORROW, NATIONAL "Semana Santa" HOLIDAYS START IN SPAIN UNTIL MONDAY.
