Why do people have sucha hard feelings and such diffferent feeliings about this car? I was just looking @ different threads and some one tossed ice cream all over the owners 02 S2K..

WHY!?

Why S2000s why people on the other boards or web sites that host videos people will praise the car as god and others hate on it as much as possible. Others call it a miata and others say it will keep up with some ferraris.

Now this could be a stupid questing but I dont see hate as much against 350zs and other type of cars, what makes people hate on S2000 so much. I had people give me thumbs up and droool over mine and other flip me off for NO ****ING REASON.

I just simply dont understand what peoples deal is. Why key, why scrach, why toss ice cream, why vandalise. Why not say something to the owner him self and see what happens. WHAT IS IT ABOUT OUR CARS that makes others envy and so "sadistick"

 

S2Ks fall in the category of Trophy Possessions, not something you need, sometimes impractical, but yet desirable. Owners of such things are often fanatical about their prize and misunderstood by a majority of the proletarian unwashed.

 

 

Haters are usually either, jealous, ignorant, or both.

However, it takes a real coward to vandalize someones car without even the satisfaction of witnessing the owner's disappointment.

 

The lunatic fringe has and will always be with us.
Personally I have had nothing but postive experiences with all who were interested enough to ask or remark about her (so far).

 

I get compliments from all types of people, thugs, buisnessman, grandmas, young kids/teens. One guy did flick me off at a light for no damn reason, then he sped off. I have no clue why.

 

Jealously.


Simple as that.

 

It's not just the S, I think all Honda's in general suffer the same. Think back to the time when as far as compact imports go, Honda was the only real game in town. During those days, there were no Evos / Sti's to play with, etc.etc etc. So anything Honda was the thing to beat. When you sit at the top, everyone wants to pull you down.

The auto world has caught up and in many cases surpassed everything that Honda offers. The S being the current top of the line Honda offering means that it is the prized target for all who need to flame something Honda. It is a past master but yet when something with 300+hp and the same weight blows it away, its all this crap about honda power (or lack of it) yadi yadi yah.

Hold on, wait for Honda's next halo car offering. Hopefully it will bring some respect back into the make. Hopefully when the S is out of production, the same haters will see it more as a classic than something to through ice cream in out of jealousy.

We can only hope......

 

We'll I can say, in less then a week of owing my 07, it was egged. Rough enough to crack/chip the paint. Baffled as to why.

I agree that the car tends to attract the haters.

Having said that lets not forget the owner factor. Some owners may be the cause of the attraction.

I honestly don't think I'm that type, but not a month goes by I don't get postive and negative reactions.

 

Never had a problem.
