Here in Germany, i must be a poor, miserbale man because i can only afford a Honda, and not a really proper super sports car like a Audi TT or BMW Z4.
Only german companys can build cars, you know....

Beside this, there is a small fanbase for japanese cars here to, the S2000 is higly desired and VERY rare here, so i sometimes get very nice, good reactions.
Germans are usullay a bit envy, but damaging other peoples cars is very uncommon. Kepping fingers crossed, i have made a full cover insurance contract for my S2000.

 

People have broken into my delsol 3 times this year, it's easy to get at with a coathanger. About 3 months ago someone walked by my car and bent the antenna backwards. And then a week later, bent it again, sometime later a third time and it was gone. This is a 1993 Honda del sol in Canada with 380,000km in 2019 that I have to cut rust on every 3 years. It's orange now but it's been three years and two spots are starting to show evidence of rust again so I'll be patching panels for the 4th time now soon. Thank God I've moved into a nicer neighborhood this month.

This thread gave me anxiety. I'm hoping 2019 isn't like 2007 when this thread was started. Took me 3 or so years to save the money and I've been looking for one for just over a year now so I never even considered this. I don't have a garage I can park in but my driveway goes beside my house and is double wide, could fit 6 cars comfortably, 8 packed tight.

 

This thread? Your own history seems like more than enough cause for anxiety. A nice S2000 sitting out in place of your declining del Sol has the potential to draw a lot more attention (of the sort that you likely don't want).

 

Yeah but like I said i've recently moved this month.

 

I daily either the S2000 or a Jeep Wrangler 10A with occasional rides on a BMW R1200RT. It's kind of rare to not get a comment or compliment when gassing up in the summer, regardless of which I'm driving. I've never had anyone flip me off in the S2000 but have had it happen in the Jeep.

The only aggression/anger I've ever had regarding the S2000 is twerps who want to race on public roads.... but they usually start with a thumbs up, maybe a strong rev. When I don't race, they just go away.

I also get a big arm-out-the-window thumbs up from a lot of younger dudes driving suped up Civics and the like.

All that said... I still worry about petty vandalism when parking on the street at restaurants and the like. My vehicles are in really good condition and that is important to me, so I park carefully, often away from other vehicles or in places where I don't think people will need to walk up against it. Have still come out to find people sitting on the motorcycle a couple of times and someone in the Jeep once when I had the doors and top off. Just sitting there, like he owned it.
