This is why I love driving my S
Today, I had the pleasure of waking up at 5:30 in the morning and driving some people to the airport. I was taking two people or I'd simply request that I take my S, but then I had to take my folk's benz E500. I know these cars are entirely two different cars and each in its own class, but simply driving the E500, I really began to miss driving my S.
The grip of the road, the feel of the turns as I accelerate(safely) through ramps, and simply just the whole feel of the car. Well, I'd have ot admit the E500 is a nice car, nice for my folks, but for me the S is perfect and clearly I couldn't be happier with any other car. Even while driving on the freeway, the benz felt as thought it didn't want to accelerate. Yes I know it has a lot more weight and that its a sedan, but I'm stimply talking about the feel of the car. I can't ever imagine myself driving a car like this in the future as my daily driver.
All and all, after driving to the airport and back in the benz, I took a spin in the S for a few mins
and I felt at peace with myself again. I love this car.

I don't drive my other car (03 VW Passat GLX) very often anymore, and when I do it's shocking.
I used to think this car was tight, with responsive steering and good acceleration. Now I think it's a boat with weak brakes, no throttle response, and loose steering.
It's all relative. Compared to most sedans it's size, especially American cars, my Passat is tight and responsive. Compared to the S2000, it's a boat.
The stock Passat stereo blows the crap out of the S2000 stereo, though.

I know how you feel... My wife has a Porsche 996 C2 and I drive a Cayenne S to work everyday (need to drop off my daughter at daycare) but there's nothing like driving the S2000. The other cars are great to drive but they don't have the light, go-cart-like feel of the S2000! I just bought the S2000 5 weeks ago and often find myself looking for an excuse to make a grocery run at night.
I can barely shift gears in my wife's GS-R because the gearbox is so sloppy compared to the S2k. I used to think that the GS-R gearbox was the best thing ever when I had my old Civic, but now it sort of sucks.

I dunno. I sometimes still enjoy driving my '90 civic hatchback though. Under normal driving conditions, it feels pretty much like the S2000. The only problem is that when I push it and ready for it to VTEC, that's when I realize I've actually redlined and can't go on anymore...
I've had my S for about 3 weeks now and yesterday I drove my Dad's Dakota quad cab. My God that thing feels like a school bus now! I used to drive it a lot(my family switches car a lot) and I really enjoyed driving it; decent handling for a truck and gobs of torque from the 4.7 V8, but now....I hate it!
I'm afraid to drive my mom's avalon again. I thought that car was the most disconnected automobile that I had every driven, and that was before getting the S! It sure is nice on long trips though, a lexus at half the price.
Driving this car really does ruin you, and in short order!
