Why I won't buy from Bulletproof
I'm not sure if this is in the right forum, so please redirect if needed. I purchased a car part through an online company, they also happen to be one of our sponsors. At the time this part was so new it was not even on anybodys site. I went ahead and made an order on it and paid for air shipping.
After three weeks, I noticed online sites posting this new product, they even had them in stock. The company I purchased it through had it listed as well and almost $80 cheaper.
I am still waiting for my car part. I guess I'm asking, do you think I am entitled to an adjustment of $80 off my original purchase price since I have not recieved my part, or am I screwed, paid the list price, paid for air shipping and just have to deal with it? I'd like any input or advice before I contact the sales rep. or president.

you could call and ask, but i would think you are out of luck. You might be able to cancel the order though and re-order it. I dont know if that would work or not though. Good luck man.

That is one reasong why I like to deal "person to person." I want to be able to walk into the shop and bitch if need be. Paying a little more so I can walk into a "tangible" store is worth it for me. I've dealt w/ many online stores and gotten stiffed too many times and lost quite a bit of $$$.

The OP said they were the first shop to have it which may mean they didn't have a good idea for a resale price at first but after it came out at other shops they could've just ajusted it to be more competitive.
Peace

The shop I go to matched the prices all over. I just told them I "found this" and you got it for this price. Can you match?? They wanted to be competitive so they hooked me up. Of course I had to pay for shipping and wait a few days longer because they didn't have it in stock but like I siad I would rather go to a shop and pick up than have UPS damage my parts because they are too lazy to climb up to the second story.

Understandable. I would ask for the adjustment and if they are a reputable place they would do it. If not then I wouldn't buy from them again. That's how I would do it. Why squabble over $80 and lose the chance of being a repeat customer??
most reputable places will give you the diffirence cuz they want ya to keep coming back.
Thanks for your input guys. I totally agree with you andy, why squabble of $80 than to lose a future customer. I mean my total amount ordered was $1500 in parts, I just wasn't satisfied with this one item. The thing is this item was a special order and coming from Japan so no refunds or exchanges. Even if they were to take it back, its a 25% restocking fee, so I lose more money.
I would be fine if my order was here and on my car, but its not and I paid air shipping and the price has since gone down, wtf. That is why I want the adjustment. The thing is they new damn well they would be soon selling this new item and the price they would be selling it for.
Here is an email they sent me before I created this thread. Anyways, I'll give it one more try, but it won't matter because I'm only one person, they have thousands of other customers if I don't ever buy from them.
Dear Drew,
Unfortunately we can not retroactively give discounts or price matches based on future group buys or competition. When a sale is made, we offer price match guarantees that allow you to have us match any price at that time, however we can not have a price match guarantee against potential future competition or special situations of group buys.
Had we known about a group buy on "car part" when you ordered it, we would have suggested an option that you wait to place your order until a group buy starts.
This situation of our competitor and our group buy is not something that we had planned for and you should in no way feel that you were "ripped" on a transaction that you made up your own mind on and that was honored and initiated based upon the exact terms in which you agreed and placed your order.
In the future, please feel welcome to use our price match policy on anything you may want to buy but please realize and respect that we can not price match against future unknowns.
We will do our absolute best to offer you exceptional service in the future and if you would like any special discount on a future purchase, please ask us and we'll try to squeeze out some extra savings for you to make you feel more positive about working with us.
We'll make it up to you on future dealings any way we can.
