Well, I can see your point. So you may as well disable the ABS system too. After all if you can't do threshold braking while in a full panic stop, then you shouldn't be driving an S2000, you should be driving a Buick ;-)

I added cruise control to my Aus S because if I'm going to get tickets it'll be when I'm misbehaving, not when I've drifted over the 110Kph limit on the freeway.

Consider too that the S2000 is not offered with an automatic transmission. The point being that the spirit of the car is a purely direct experience between the car and the driver with as little intervention between the two as possible. This attracts a very specific group of people, most of whom would scoff at the idea of DSC (myself included).

I have an Australian MY2000 model S2000 - it does not come with cruise control - but it has headlight washsers (stupid idea).

I guess I am not as good driver as you are....
I am really glad to have ABS, and stability control would be bonus.
And, yes I take my car to race tracks and also participate in autocrosses.
I would like to have margin of safety when I need it.
But, each on there own.

If stability control is important to you and the S2000 doesn't have it, just buy something else that does. There are a lot of great cars on the market now, and many of them do offer some kind of stability control system.

Not to be rude dude, but Harleys don't come with training wheels as an option......if you understand my point. Trapeze artists that work without a net get a much bigger kick out of it. If it ain't for you, it ain't for you. I won't do the skydiving thing anymore as nowadays they strap some moron to your back before you jump. What's the point????? Besides, when you idiot proof something, it just leads to bigger idiots. It's downright anti-evolutionary! Harrrummph!

You're right; Harleys don't come with training wheels, but Lambos, 911 Turbos, M3s, M5s, etc. all come with stability control. If I hadn't read about a hundred posts in the last few weeks about drivers spinning out on sprinkler puddles with their S2000s I wouldn't be as concerned. But you are right, if it is something I feel I have to have then I should buy something else.

Then why do most enthusiasts that own M3's try to find ways to disable the traction control system?

Because it isn't necessary.

Stability control is only for those people that are not in tune with what their car is telling them.

Get some track time in the car, and you will quickly learn that you do not need stability control on this car.
