Why is it so hard to find a GPW S2K?
GPW is sure hard to come by.. When I was looking for an s2k, I saw a nice AP2 GPW/tan and it literally sold the same day it was put up on autotrader (before I called that same day). Thus, I ended up with the lime green/blue color. That was my 2nd fav color combo.

It seems that silverstone and sebring silver are really easy to find, and I dont want a dull color. My only other option is a spa yellow s2k, but Im afraid that it will make my insurance higher and attract too much attention: cops and thieves...
I must have gotten super lucky with mine
. Opened up autotrader at work on a Thursday to find a gpw with 32k on it. Bought it 38 hrs later. I wasn't even really in the market when I was looking through autotrader but when I saw it, I got that "I can't miss this" sensation.
Best of luck!

I’ve always been puzzled by the GPW phenomenon on s2ki.
Like other people have said, GPW s2k’s are harder to find because less of them were produced.
Common sense tells us that less GPW’s were made because there was less of a demand.
If more people wanted GPW, Honda would have produced them.
I looked at two GPW’s last year.
Despite what I’ve read on s2ki, they weren’t priced any higher than the other S2000’s I looked at.
lol

I really wanted a GPW, I love white Hondas, my Civic Si is white and so I wanted a white S2000, but then I found an Apex Blue CR with less than 4000 miles on it for the right price, and I snapped it up.

That's not necessarily true - Honda NA selected few colors from all that were available and dealers chose many from the select colors and didn't choose white. Silver was the most popular color trend over the past 10 years, perhaps lots of dealers got that color because it was "easy to sell".

While black is not the easiest color either, it at least shows dust / bugs / etc., a little less. Silver is always a safe color for dealers as well. I was actually surprised how many suzukas were made, but I suppose since it's lighter and almost is a silvery blue it makes sense.
