Why such a light clutch?
Hey,
I test-drove a Honda S2000 that has been sitting at my local Honda dealership for a couple of months. It was 57 degrees yesterday (beautiful for an NJ winter day) so I randomly drove into the dealership and requested a test-drive for the vehicle. I have been wanting to drive this car for such a long time but I was just waiting for a nice day to put the top down.
Anyways, the car was amazing, but you all know that. The experience was superb, the engine is a masterpiece (even though it is a little gutless), but I felt like the clutch was WAY too light. The clutch was so light, I felt like it made the clutch pedal feel numb. Also, it seemed like the engine needed at least 2,000rpm's just to get the car moving. So why such a light clutch that hurts the feel from a car that is all about not compromising????
Also, while the shifts were really short and really easy, the shifts aren't too clear. I once put it in 4th by mistake when trying to downshift to 2nd. I guess there's no such thing as a perfect car !!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
MrElussive

act pp will makes you change your mind.
gutless only if not driven well into the rpm band. from a start, i agree unless you get gears.
shifts are easy. u just have to get used to it.

Actually, I've always been pleasantly surprised at the overall performance of this car in spite of it's engine size. It'll stay with traffic with a minimum of fuss. Take her over 6000 rpms and she'll give many of those V8's with twice the engine displacement more than a run for their money!

As for the clutch, it's always felt Ok to me. Like the others said, you've just got to get used to it.
Drive Safe,
Steve R.
