Default Wierd Experience!

Leaving work this afternoon. Start up my S2K and something strange starts to happen. While in idle it starts to harmonically rev between 800 and 3500RPM, I give it a little gas no change, I shift into gear no change, I drive and it continues to cycle between 800 and 3500RPM. Stop at a light shift into neutral same thing. By now I am completely freaked out. Think about pulling into a gas station and call for help, but decided to do one more thing. I Vteced in second gear and then stopped the car and shifted into idle. Viola steady RPM @ ~900RPM everything is back to normal. Drive slow, drive fast check again and everything is cool. Drove 50 miles to home and no further problems!

Anybody have a clue as to what might have happened. Anyone else have a similar experience. Should I be worried and take the car to the dealership(hate to do that)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did this happen before the ROAR CAI install? I've never heard of this problem on the S2000 yet.

Was it warmed up? My S would do the same thing while the engine was still cold...I think they all do.

Do you have cruise control on your car by chance? I have an aftermarket cruise control that wasn't set properly, after I had about 3,000kms on it I had the same thing happen as what you describe. I could be completely wrong but it's worth a look.

It's a sign. You're not driving her hard enough. She wants her daily dose of 9000rpm

Try reseting your ECU. I had this happened to my Prelude. The dealer told me to reset my ECU. Other than that I'm not intelligent enough to guess what else is wrong with it

It has the factory CC on it and it was turned off, somehow I don't think its related to that.

There's two way to reset the ECU, either pull the fuse for the ECU, or unplug the battery.

I'd recommend finding the fuse for the ECU. Pulling the battery would require you to reset the radio codes.

I'm not sure where the fuse for the ECU is. I think if you did a search on ECU fuse, you might find it on another post.
