Yes. You may need to buy some attachment hardware, though.

See if you can get the hardware from the person you're buying the hardtop from. Afterall, they did come with the HT originally.

Two problems with that.

1) it's relatively a PITA to go in and remove that stuff

2) the attachment hardware for a 2001 would not have the right trim and defroster interface for a 2005 (there's a reason the attachment kits depend on the VIN of the car but the hardtops are universal)

1) Of course it's a PITA to get it all out, but they did come with the top.
2) Are you sure? I thought the HT trim piece that holds the defroster wiring receptacle was the same for all years (behind the driver's head). I don't know for sure as I've never actually seen a HT on a late model S. It was my impression that the differences in kits was mostly to do with the wiring harnesses under the center console for connecting up the defroster. Since the cars with the glass soft top windows have a defroster circuit already, they don't need those same wiring pieces or the relay (which I needed, along with the console button).

You're too kind. In this thread, I am not certain of some of my facts. Just hoping to try and save you a bit of money. If the seller didn't keep his original trim pieces, then he won't be able to give you the HT ones, in which case, you'll have to buy them from HTguy. I think the trim pieces contribute to a significant portion of the overall kit you need to complete this installation. Unless you don't need the defroster (being in California), then really all you need are the rear side catchers. You can always modify the existing trim pieces so the latch pins can access the catchers - not the best way, but a way.
