Will this motor fit in an S2000?
[QUOTE=RED MX5,Sep 22 2007, 06:18 PM]It depends on which way you disable VTEC.
If you disable engagement, I don't think that the car will even pull to red line, because power with the base cam profiles starts to fall off after 6k.

This is the worthy "upgrade" to our f20/f22 engines.
400 hp...I believe they've upgraded the motor and are getting 450 hp(NA) out of a 2.8 L block.
Weighs 200 lbs
245lbs ft/tq
Very nice stats...I know its expensive and all but very original and still NA.
All this talk about shoehorning an LS1 or LS2 into an S seems so wrong...kinda like throwing a diesel in there. You lose that formula race car feeling of running the 8,000+ rpms. To me, you lose out on the nature of what the S was meant to be. Sure you can boost it(which I'm planning on my S) but an NA motor that revs to 10,000 rpms and puts out 450 hp out of a 2.8L V8...Pure Bliss!!!

I personally cannot wait to get a hold of the Honda diesel and throw it into my S2000. I will break all gas mileage records for this car. Screw your quarter mile times.
There is a company that builds V8s out of Hayabusa motors. Basically two motors stuck together, to give it a high revving V8. While it would be cool, the torque curve would be even worse than the F20C.
