Default The Wind Baffle

Has anybody seen this?

http://www.windbaffle.com/

It takes the wind deflector (aeroscreen) idea to the extreme. It's a large sheet of Lexan and, in the case of the S2000, spans almost the entire width of the passenger compartment. It attaches to the role hoops via three Velcro straps. While it's not as pretty as the stock wind deflector, or Rick's, it does prevent any backdrafts from passing through the headrests.

I've never seen one, but from the pictures, it might be harder to secure on our S2Ks than on the cars they are showing. Not sure how it would attach to the car. Also, it kind of ugly looking.

Silver,

That looks well nasty, stick with either the stock or Rick's screen and don't make your stook look like the popemobile )

I agree that it looks bad. Looks really homemade.

I've got the stock screen but I've been debating on whether or not to get one of Rick's. I think there's a bit too much wind when doing 80 mph down the road.

Rick's screen looks great. I'm worried about vibrations on the larger screen though. I know he's got a fix but how well does it work and does it look tacky? Also, which one to go with: 7/8 or full?

Hey Silver Bulet,

I would probably go with the 7/8 since some people have broken their fullsize one's by accident. I know Prolene had an unfortunate incident when he forgot to fold it down before putting the top down.

Good point!
I love the wind in my hair, not to mention the fact that it forces girls to wear headbands (or whatever you call that piece of cloth they tie around their head), and I love that!

What the hell are you doing in Groenland?

To set the record straight, it doesn't matter which size screen of ours you buy, 'cause if you put the top up or down with it folded back, you're very likely to break it. The smaller one interferes with the top just as much as the larger. The only difference is that the large screen rubs the rear window when you fold it back with the top up, and the 7/8s version doesn't. Buth this is an inconsequential difference, because the edge is so highly polished it won't scratch the rear window.

One of the most often overlooked advantage of replacing the stock screen with ours or Mingster's is the ability to carry on a conversation with a passenger or to actually hear the stereo. The noise is cut down substantially, and even more with the side windows up.

Rick,

Who wants to listen to the stereo at 115 anyhow? The only conversation I have with my passenger (my son) is "yee haw" and nobody wants to hear what my wife says at those speeds

and, err...windows up?? What's that all about?
