Wind Noise = Hearing Loss?
I had a random thought yesterday, while driving home from work. Has anyone done a study on hearing loss related to wind noise? I've always wondered about this... anyone know?
Actually there was a study done back in the 60s I believe that showed a definite loss of midrange hearing accuity in the left ears of young male drivers. This was traced to the popularity of cruising at speed with the windows down (with your left arm draped cool on the window ledge of course) and the related turbulence over a prolonged amount of time. One must remember that these were the years of loud muscle cars and air conditioning was not as popular at that time.
