Default Window not always rolling all the way down...

When I go to put my soft top down the passenger window always rolls down all the way, but sometimes the drivers side window only goes half way down and I have to put it down the rest of the way myself. Other times it goes all the way down. Is there something I'm missing? Why would it do this? I never have any problems putting the window down normally.

I bought this car used a couple weeks ago. It's a 2002 and only had 4100 miles on it when I bought it. Mint condition otherwise.

There's a TSB out on this. They replace the window regulator in the driver's side door - the updated part fixes this once and for all. Check with your dealer - they MAY do this for nothing. I don't think they're required to do it for free if it's out of warranty, though.

Well, I purchased an additonal 3yr/60,000 mile warranty from GE, but that has a $200 deductible. The car should still be under manufacturer warranty until like Aug though, so that should work right? Do you have a link to this TSB so I could take a look at it?

Thanks for the help, BTW.

If it is still under factory warranty, I would definately go ahead and find out all the tsb's and go ahead and have them done before your car goes out of warranty. There's a list around here somewhere.....

Print it out and take it to your dealer. Call them first to make sure they have the part in stock (they should).

Good luck!

GE? Is that a credit union? Any kind of extended service contracts provided from anything other than a dealership is not a very good buy. There is a ton of stuff that they do not cover and they are generally priced only a few hundred below what honda offers and you can get 7yr/100k warranty bumper to bumper, all the AAA coverages included, and a lower deductable. I know this is off topic but i suggest you look into it if its not too late to cancel the extended warranty you purchased which shouldnt be a problem since you are still under manufacturers warranty although I am not sure because a lot of these aftermarket warranties are crooks.

Sorry - I guess you need to be a member to view the Library.

It's OK - just call your dealer. They should know about it. Its TSB 01-008 last updated 4/29/2003.

(Or, become a memer. This site is well worth the small membership fee).
