Default Window Tint & The Convertible Top?

My husband is taking his S2000 to have the windows tinted today. Obviously, this will mean he can not put the windows down for a few days. Is there a way to "turn off" the feature that makes the windows go down automatically with the top?

We are in sunny FL and would hate to have to go the entire weekend with the top up..spoils the fun!!

Thanks!

Nope...windows go down to keep from damaging the top I believe.

Well, I got mine tinted and parked it in the sun drying the windows good for a day. Then I was able to drop the top and not worry about the wondows going down. A good tint job wont be damaged if you drop the top.

We did not receive an Owner's Manual with our S2000 so I was not sure if it was possible to put the top down without the windows going down.

If anyone knows the actual answer to my question, please post it.

Thanks!

I guess she want to drop the top right after she get her car tinted. But when you put the top down the window automatically lower the window. But after when you tint a car you are not suppose to lower the window becuase the tint is not fully set yet. I say you just tint the car on monday and wait till wensday or thursday before you drop the top down.

Call your husband and tell him to make them do it with the top down!!! Quick, before its too late !!!!

lol.... but if it is too late.... you can disconnect the wiring harnesses that go to your doors (one on each side), they have wires for the windows, locks, stereo, mirror, ext., but you could just unclip them for a sec, but the top down, then plug them back in

Tis done....didn't take long since the windows are so small.

I do not think we want to go thru the trouble of taking the door panels off to put the top down but thanks for the info, might come in handy some day. We will just have to drive around with the top up....

I thought maybe there was a "trick" like maybe if you pushed the window up button at the same time you pushed the top down button......

There is no trick to do it.

Our guy when he tints the windows, he uses a heat lamp on the windows to help dry it. Hell, we've lowered the windows after we got ours tinted that day. Like I said, a good tint shop wont have a problem with the tint coming off.
