Best comment I heard on this thread is smake sure you go with the best stuff you can find. If you tint the rear and go with cheap stuff, you will be miserable trying to remove purple stuff 1 year from now. You may even ruin your defroster. Personally I went with some platinum solar something or other (ha ha) Got 35 all around and i'm super pleased.

Which is why I didn't tint the rear window at all. It's realtively small and I don't presonally think it makes that much difference. I've yet to see window tinting applied over the rear window defroster that didn't bubble up sooner or later and getting it off without damaging the defroster is almost impossible.

It's well worth it on the door windows however.

Just another opinion!

I recently tinted my s2000 with 15% all around. I used llamar tint (very good stuff) and bought the three pieces off ebay precut to the size of the windows. I have tinted the windows to all my previous cars and would not own a car without eventually tinting the windows on it. Actually this is the lightest tint I have ever put on before, All my former cars were 5%, I also had a jeep with 2 and 1/2%. I'm thinking of putting 5% on my s and taking off the 15 but I'll leave it for now...The back window doesnt have much room to work with so take your time with it if you want it to come out looking right.

Bunch of us Midwest guys had a group install.
I organized the group install for the UMW. the shop I used was very professional, and gave excellent advice. The general concensus was 35% on the side windows and 20% on the rear window.

Not sure what state the OP is in, but tinting the side windows is illegal in some states and *MAY* get you a ticket. Ultimately, its up to you - doesnt stop most people though.

I cannot stress this enough - GET IT PROFESSIONALLY DONE!

There's nothing worse than seeing a faded, bubbly DIY tint job on a car!

I have 5% all around and on my hard top. Definitely makes it look nicer

I can see out of it just fine during the day and the night is not so bad if I'm in the city. I have to roll down my window to back up at night sometimes, but it's worth the trade off to me.

You kids are backwards
Why would you tint the back window more than the sides?
Most people who tint would tell you to go darker on the sides and lighter on the rear because of visibility.

Although I'm currently backwards too...
Last time I went to redo my plastic rear window, all Wal~Mart had was the 5% cling tint in stock. So instead of trying another store I just got the 5%.
My sides are 20%.
