This is true, there are plenty around my house too, but they never have customers.

I can say honestly without bias that I personally would rather have my repair done at a certified shop in a professional enviornment than by some loner guy in a parking lot with a tent.

Maybe that's just me though
It doesn't hurt to try. Afterall, they are promoting for some stores. They don't just do it for fun.

I understand what you're saying and completly agree.

However, if your insurance could cover it anways, why not go to a place that you know will do a good job?

A friend of mine got his done at one of those rock chip tents at our local mall and was really disapointed with the outcome. The chip was fixed, but the guy who did it only spent like 10 min. on it and it showed.

But, as I said, shop around. If your local mall repair tents do good work, then by all means, go for it. But if you can get it covered by insurance anyway, I'd look into a professional, certified shop.

Hell yeah! Since there are not many customers, I get to sleep all day under the table, like George on Seinfeld.

You should be fine if you fix it soon.

The most common things that cause chips to "spider" outward are direct pressure on the shield and drastic temperatures (either really cold or really hot). I would said a good 2/3rds of the windshield replacements that we do for people who let chips go without fixing them are caused by the heat in the summer, where a chip can spread across an entire shield in a few hours.

GENUINE AUTO GLASS
2609 S TACOMA WAY, TACOMA, WA 98409
Phone: (253) 471-9000

This guy is awesome!! My lil ding isnt a ding anymore, its almost invisible and its a small shop with a few others in the state. The owner does all the repair work himself and hes been doing it since early 80s!! It really is art to fix, he spent about 30min and we just bsed very freindly guy. He charges usually $29.00 and compare this to NOVUS for $50. The work he does is as quality as NOVUS. I'm impressed
