honda stealerships. Its the labor not the part that kills you.

Try this: Buy the OEM window online then go to any glass place ot have it installed. Or have the dealer order it and do it at a cheaper place. Nothing beats OEM

BTW was it a huge crack at first or did it gradually start to get bigger? If so should have got the crack fixed.

Just get aftermarket. No difference. And it will need replacing from little rock chippies in a couple years anyway. Just make sure the auto glass place puts it in well with no stress flexing or it can break with minimal additional stress.

There's only PPG and Safelite brands right? OEM is PPG, but people get both types of glass installed for their S - its important that they do a good job installing it though. Call around and see if you can get a lower offer.

After mine was hit with a large stone from a truck I had to have mine replaced. Had it fixed at a local windshield place with ppg, mine was covered by insurance though. I don't notice any differance between my original glass and the current windshield.

I had my windshield replaced by JN Phillips and they are basically the same. Unless you're looking for a 100 point show car, they are identical products. Make sure the installation is done well. The outer seal around my windshield could've been adhered better.

I would rather have a glass place do than the dealership just because your recourse will be better with a glass place. How many windshields does the dealer install (if they even do it themselves or just sub it out to a glass installer).

Make sure you get PPG though... They are the OEM suppliers for Honda in the US - not sure about S2000s because they are manufactured in Japan. My friend had the windshield of his Corvette replaced by Safelite. He had to return 4X. They make their own windshields - his was pretty distorted, enough to give him headaches. They also installed it using butyl caulk (which is illegal in CA) and tried to reuse the original seals. When my friend took it back because of the major leaks, they replaced them with a cheap aftermarket one. Add to the fact that Safelite is the "Supercuts" of windshield repair (Newbies get a lot of "on the Job Training") I would avoid them all together.

Wherever you go, its worth it to get a PPG windshield, and make sure they use genuine Honda seals. The guys who replaced mine used genuine seals and PPG glass. They showed up at my driveway and finished in about 30 min. Icalled the two local Honda Dealers and the local independent Honda service center for recommendations. They all recc'd the place I eventually went to. So ask around.

Most dealers won't install the glass themselves anyway. They'll have it done by a replacement house and charge you a markup. Go to the replacement house yourself and save money. If you insist on OEM glass, they'll get it from a dealer.
