I had an old (1988) BMW 325. I just bought a new hose assembly for like $20.00. Mine was old though.

mine come off and on as they please... one sprays in a V fashion while the other sprays in a I jet way... hehe.. not sure which one is right... but it doesnt bother me too much...

I'm not cheap, I am using windsheild wiper fluid, not water. So that is not the problem. Sounds like it is a problem with many S's. Just one of those things I will have to periodically fix, I guess.
