Default Winter storage question, top latched or not?!

New owner. Done everything ready for indoor winter storage in my garage. 2 questions that give me different answers. What is your experience and advice.

1. Manual says to store in reverse gear, others say 1st. Which is best?

2. Should the top be unlatched to relieve some of the tension or not?

Thanks.

Don't put in any gear or use the E-brake, use chocks.

I left my top latched for the winter, its not that tight to cause a concern.

I agree with the other reply. No gear or brake engaged. Use wheel stops.

I'm in neutral with blocks of wood in front and back, top latched. Worked fine last year....

neutral here, on a flat level garage with a rubber car mat under it. I actually roll it back one week and forth the next about 5 feet each week. Keeps the tires from flat spotting.

Top I have always kept down for 8 years now, the top is original and still in fantastic shape.

I think they recommend reverse gear because it is the lowest gear and less chance of rolling if on a slope. I don't know what harm it does leaving it in gear, my wheels are chocked but don't sweat it if do it the other way. My top is folded down, if it was up I'd leave it unlatched.
