Congrats. You're going to love it -- especially after 6 months of looking around on here. You already know all the sacrifices to expect, and common quirks, so if you run into em, you won't be bummed.

Side note: I remember the night before I went to pick it up, I had no trouble sleeping. Maybe it's because I subliminaly knew that I'd be having beautiful S2000 dreams.

Congradulations! Driving this car is fun, fun, fun and the novelty doesn't wear off. Check your oil often in the beginning and keep it under 5500 RPM's to break it in right. Also try to avoid sudden hard stops during the break-in so the rotors wear correctly. Good luck.

 

I remember getting my S2000. It was on the used lot just smiling at me. No waiting period, but I had to wait until I graduated from college (August 2000) then get a job before I could afford one. I bought mine on 30-JAN-02. Man, I can't believe that it's about to be 2 years already!

I also remember trying to get jipped by the dealership. They wanted $30,900 for a MY00 with 24,400 miles. I was like "No Way! I showed them on www.autotrader.com that I could go to Atlanta and get the same car from another Honda dealership for $27,000. They quickly dropped their price to $27,900 and I took the offer. I had to go through hoops to get approved for the special 5.9 interest rate which took an extra couple of days. I had to have my mother co-sign which was stupid considering I had already bought a house and my debt to income ratio was alright. but since I had never bought a car before thet gave me hell about the credit thing. But after all of that, I finally got to drive the car off the lot. That was a great feeling. My first car I ever bought and it was an S2000. A great improvement over a 94 Honda Civic with 210,000 miles and a faded paint job.

No one can ever tell me that most women aren't superficial bitches. I drive my Civic on the weekdays and my S on the weekends and I see it 24/7. I call my Civic "Clark Kent" and my S "Super Man" becasue that's the way I feel. I am a mild mannered professional on the weekdays and a Super Gigalo on the weekends.

 

i remember when i first got my s2000. for the first week or 2, i would randomly wake up in the middle of night to go sneak a peak at the car in the garage. i just couldnt believe i finally had one. ever since they came out in fall of 99, i always knew this was the car for me. im just glad i waited 3 years to get my MY03, since most problems from 00-01 were fixed(especially the rear window, transmission, enigne oil bolts,etc, etc).

You know, I don't think I'm ever going to own his car. I had the deal worked out, and when I went to sign and pick it up, the paper work was differant and they said that they had made a mistake when they appraised my car. And of course I didn't get the deal in writting the last night so needless to say, for the second time, I am not getting an S2000.

I'm so frusterated. I hate car dealers.
