Welcome to the form!

$700 under invoice is awesome! Why would the dealer sell it that cheap?

In addition to that^^, don't VTEC until 600 miles on the clock. Fighting the temptation to vtec beforehand is tough!

Just curious, was is $700 under MSRP, $700 over invoice maybe?

I just never heard of any dealership selling that much below.

I couldn't find any dealer in So. Cal to sell less than $300 over invoice for an '03

Yep, I think they meant MSRP. They normally only start going under invoice to move a previous MY overstock on popular models (Civics and Accords). Here in Dallas I was able to get two dealers battling against each other and got them down to about $400 over invoice when I bought mine last week. At that price they were cutting their profits very thin. The only other built in profit for them is the dealer holdback which was probably not much since their not expected to have to keep many of these sitting around on the lot.

Still, after TT&L (walk out price) of just over $32,000 I thought was a good deal.

MSRP has been $32,600 for MY '03. Invoice is somewhere around $29K, but I don't know the exact number.

The price I paid was $29,150. Invoice is $29,760 (including freight, w/o freight is $460 less.) I had two dealerships initially under $100 under invoice. Then one budge to $250 under invoice. The dealership offering $250 under invoice had three available. 1 black, 1 white, and 1 silverstone. The silverstone had about 50 miles, the white 60, and the black 470. I initially wanted black but didn't feel it was a fair deal. Their excuse was that they transferred it from a NJ dealership...blah...blah. They said they couldn't budge below $250 under invoice. I said well there are other dealers out there and said "thanks for your business." They called me back about two hours later saying they would dropp another $400 below invoice to compensate for the miles.

Obviously that was the clincher. I know, it's a risk with that many miles but I felt it was a fair deal for what I was looking for. Anyway, I'm one happy cat.

So...where's the Zaino and the chalk.
