Default Words of love from an ex-owner

Nearly one year after I traded my s2000, I am still browsing s2ki on almost a daily basis. I am currently on my second vehicle since my GPW/red AP1, and while I love my Silverstone FD RX7, I often miss the worry-free 10/10ths driving option that my s2000 offered at all times. Yes, the RX7 is lighter, faster, torquier, rarer, and more unique. And I love all of hose things about cars - MY car specifically, but I can confidently say that if I had the option, I would gladly trade my car for another MY00 GPW/red AP1 Honda S2000 and never look back.

If I believed that an inanimate object had "powers," I would be more than convinced of the s2000's power to draw people in. Countless examples of people buying their s2000, selling, and coming back to buy another one as soon as they possibly can. Furthermore, I am staunchly against the "typical" Honda crowd because where I live, they seem to be primarily dishonest people lacking in integrity on every level. Not to mention, I prefer a purpose designed platform for whatever vehicle I am driving. Consequently, all of my car friends are also very not-Honda people; yet, somehow, the s2000 draws in respect on par with the other high-end sports cars of its contemporary.

I hope this thread encourages someone to realize what an incredible machine they have. If your s2000 isn't fast enough for you, you can definitely find a car that is faster. My opinion, having driven quite a few respectable sports car, is as follows:

There is no car which is as satisfying, rewarding and dependable as the Honda s2000.

I agree. My dad has an FC 88' RX7 with 9k miles. He's always admiring my car.

I was at my son's home for his wedding rehearsal dinner this evening and one of my grandsons, who's 10, was also there. He made sure to tell everyone which car was grandpa's!

Great post. I know what you mean. Call me crazy...but I drove a few laps of an autocross track in a Ferrari F430 today, and I felt the excitement I got out of taking the Ferrari in the corners was similar to the excitement I get from the S2000. Funny to think a Ferrari made me appreciate the joy and satisfaction I get of the of the S even more.

I'm always happy to read posts like these. As someone that occasionally daydreams about "Affordable" exotics (Elise/exige, F355, NSX, and Supra)... I always come back to what a wonderful driving experience the AP1 offers. If anything, I'll end up boosting the AP1.

Thanks for the post!
