Work for a Honda dealer? Help me decode report?
Hello all,
Well, after some time spent researching different cars, I finally pulled the trigger on an '06 S2000 yesterday. Since I wanted a car that hadn't been test driven (and he didn't have any '06s on the lot anyway), I wanted him to give me one out of his allocation.
"No problem," he says. He then calls me back a little later, and says that he found a dealer in Florida due to receive a car that had already been built in the color I wanted (Laguna Blue Pearl), and that he'd "flipped" the car to his store (meaning that it would be delivered directly to my dealer instead of the dealer in Florida). This means that I should see the car in late January/early February instead of the March/April timeframe if he had just earmarked one of his not-yet-built cars for me.
Anyway, as we're filling out the paperwork, the salesperson handed me a printout with columns of data on it. It had "Interactive Network" printed on the top and "American Honda Motor Co., Inc." on the bottom, and was page three of five, so I don't have any headings to make sense of it, but in the middle of the page was a section entitled "S2000 2 DR", followed by one line of data. This had been circled with a marker and "your car" was written next to it.
Well, being the nosy type, I wondered if any of the people on these forums that work at Honda dealerships could help me understand what it is I'm seeing here. Some of it is pretty obvious, but some of it isn't.
Here's what the report says:

[QUOTE=Poindexter,Jan 1 2006, 05:53 AM]The rest of the numbers aren't something you really need to pay attentin to,
...
If you think you're getting Laguna Blue Pearl, then you might want to call your dealer back to make 100% sure.

The Berlina Black / Black reference might be the car your dealer is trading for this one. American Honda is like a giant national swap meet. If they do not have the car you want, they can swap it with a similar car from their lot to get the one you want. Good inventory management and matching system.
I would still follow up, though.

Ok, I called my dealer, and he said that color code "BB" on the allocation report is not Berlina Black; the code for that color is actually "BK". He says he checked twice to make sure that this car was the right color, so I guess "BB" really is Laguna Blue Pearl.
Of course, if someone else with access to the list of color codes could confirm that, I wouldn't mind one bit...

Honda is actually pretty good for codes in common sense - you should see Porsche and Toyota if you want a totally new language

The first number is a "order reference #", second number is the Honda code for the car, the next set of info is the car info, 2nd to last number is the dealership he is getting it from, and the last number is the date it was expected to be built(12/13). Hope this helps.
