Default Worlds apart!

I bought my 02 Silver S2K last weekend and there isn't a day that goes by as I'm amazed at how capable the car is. I'm still trying to break it in slowly so nothing past 6K for me so far but a few more hundred miles should do the trick.

I just did a moderate canyon run up in Angeles Crest, CA and the car just plain floored me. I have a 92 Integra with an adjustable suspension, standard engine mods and Yokohama AVS intermediates and this S2K will spank my Integra anyday.

I'm impressed how the S2K has such flat handling, immense grip and torquey (yes, torquey) motor at such low revs. It ain't no Corvette but it still pulls decently enough where I don't need to shift as much as I used to with the Integra. I can also dive into turns with more confidence than with the Integra.

I may do some mods on this car too so what do you guys suggest that doesn't take away from the cars great character?

Suspension? Supercharger? Exhaust/Intake? - Thx

Well, I don't own one but, what do you think needs improvement? I don't see the point of modding a car for the sake of modding it. People say the stock air box is bad as it sucks in hot air and that really hinders performance. There's plenty of CAI's to choose from. I think the car looks a ton better with the headlight's corners cleared. There's a thread that has a very good explanation on how to do this with pics and everything. You can also get JDM/Euro headlights but they are very expensive and aimed for right hand drive cars so you will be blinding people driving towards you at night. This dude Rick on the board sells accessories like these cool "S" badges, wind blockers to go between the headrests, colored brake calipers, steering wheels with leather to match the seats and in other colors, though you got the black interior, shift knobs, stuff like that. I think a lot of his stuff is cool. I'm sure some one can point you to his site. Sorry, I don't know the address. Well, have fun. Or you could go all out with performance parts which seems to be your intention. An intake seems like a good place to start then.

Actually, you can buy Euro headlights that would be aimed correctly for a US car. I can't remember who sells them, but do a search if you are interested. Definitely do not buy the JDM ones or Euros from a right hand drive country, though. If you're spending that kind of money to get the cleared lights, make sure you get the right ones!

The side markers are much easier, thankfully. Rick sells those.

One more thing, hold off a bit before doing any major mods like a supercharger or even an exhaust. Maybe try to hook up with some local people and check their mods out first? You might end up saving yourself some money.

Galveston, I saw the site you mentioned and he has some cool stuff. I like the larger windscreen. I like everything about the car as is but I'm wondering if there are any mods that just enhance the sounds of the car like the CAI's and exhausts or if there are any coil-over suspensions that keep the steady handling characteristics. I may just keep the car stock and just throw some nicer/larger wheels on it.

Strangedaze, that's a great suggestion. I actually plan on checking out a bunch of rides first before I pull the trigger on things.

Coilovers, there's the Mugen ones... all I know is that they cost a lot. There are also Ground Control coilovers. Their site is www.ground-control.com There's a thread in the track forum about em w/pics. I think this one Japanese company called "Buddyclub" also makes some. Are you gonna track the car? I think Mugen MF10s and O.Z. Superleggeras are the coolest looking wheels I've seen on the S2000.

Galveston, I'll more than likely take her to track days. I agree, the MF10 and Superleggeras are awesome wheels. I also really like the Volk CE28N. A bit expensive but really nice and light.
