"...a George, divided against itself...cannot stand."

My hardware and over-clocking world is colliding with my car world:

from http://firingsquad.gamers.com/hardwa...xp/default.asp[/B]]http://firingsquad.gamers.com/hardwa...xp/default.asp:
AMD's Athlon processor blends a balanced combination of IPC and clock speed into one package while the Pentium 4 focuses squarely on high clock rates. To refer to a car analogy, think of a vehicle like the Honda S2000, which achieves its peak horsepower and torque at high RPMs. This vehicle is akin to the Pentium 4. In comparison, a similar roadster such as the Porsche Boxster S which achieves its peak figures at a lower RPM level (i.e. the Athlon). Each solution has its own way of achieving its performance (those important 0-60 times!) and neither implementation is "right" or "wrong" -- it's just something you have to realize when product shopping...

My God, the S2000 compared to a P4. But I'm an AMD man!

That is an interesting way to market AMD's Athlon processor

Although the analogy is correct, if price were factored in, the AMD chip would be 2X the cost of the Intel, instead of the other way around (well, until recently.)

I used to work for Gamers.com (sister site of Firingsquad), we worked in the same room. I have an S2k, and one of their ex IT guys (Ozy on this board) has one as well.
