Default Worried about theft?

I'm debating whether to get SSR SP1s or Work S1. There is definitely a difference in price, but also quality. I'm just hesitant to buy the Works because I'm so paranoid that I'm just setting myself up for theft (not only of the wheels but the whole car). Does anyone ever consider this when buying their aftermarket parts? BTW, I drive the car daily so it sits outside my work, at the movies, restaurants, etc.

Call your insurance man and tell him you'd like to up the comprehensive coverage. Might cost you 5 bucks a year.

I'll look into that but I'm still worried that with the desirable seats and wheels, they just might decide it's a good idea to take the whole car instead.

Seat theft: Kodokan seat locks and warning sticker
Car theft: Alarm with kill switches, proximity sensors, etc. + Autolock
Wheel theft: Multiple sets of wheel locks
Convertible top slashing/vandalism: Get a hardtop

That's probably the best you can do as for prevention. But even if the thief can't steal it, he's probably going to vandalize your car to an extent.

Thieves suck.

Get a high quality paging alarm with proximity sensor. Also make sure to up your coverage for your aftermarket stuff.

Just keep your insurance company informed of any upgrades and you'll be fine. There's a reason you have insurance!!

I had big plans for an elaborate alarm, seat locks, etc but decided recently that if somebody wants my stuff, just take it. The worst thing that will result is the inconvenience of not having the car or seats if they're stolen, but I'd be plenty happy getting retail value for my seats, or probably more money for the car than I'd get if I sold it.

There is really not much to worry about when you have a $0 comprehensive deductible and let the insurance company know what parts you have.
