Default Worth fixing this damage ?

Hi to all S2k enthusiasts.

I would like to hear your opinion/knowledge on this matter, if you experienced it or know something about it. I have this S2k which has this rocker panel bends caused by the wrong jack positioning (see pictures attached). My question is, is it worth fixing it ? Can i expect a reputable body shop to do a unnoticeable job? Worth fixing before selling the car? I would appreciate if you guys can share some highlights on this.

Thank you to all.

It’s below the belt line and would be a super easy fix. My wife took my car to work and hit a curb with that same part of the car. I pulled the fender and fixed it with a rubber mallet backed by a block of wood. Unless you’re driving by people that have fallen down, nobody will ever see the repair.

I would be inclined to take it to a pointless dent outfit that has been in business for a while. A regular shop is going to use Bondo and respray the side. That may not look right and might overspray a VIN number tag.

Looks like the front fender was damaged because someone jacked it up at the wrong spot.

Get some quotes, OP. Only you can determine what's worthwhile. We don't know your price point or what the rest of the car looks like. For all we know, the rest of your car could be on actual fire in the photos you sent.

S2000 shoppers generally look for major damage or body work, and the presence of the VIN number on each panel.

My quarter panel has that and it had gone through multiple shops being repaired after a crash and I could never prove who did it since it was opposite the side that was repaired and it sat for a while and I did not notice it And being the quarter, way more work to repair. I think one of the shops missed the pinch weld with a lift and started lifting it before they caught it.

But being the fender, that is much easier to repair on yours.

$1700 is a little steep! But I guess it depends on your location.

The less they do, the better. All this talk about blending paint...what is it they want to actually do?

What happened to it? Is there damage to the paint? Or just a dent?

If its just a dent....
you could take it to a good PDR guy. They can probably make it look at least 90% as good as it was before it was dented. The tiny ding that may remain without having any paint work done will be more attractive to a buyer than a car that has evidence of repainting.

Plus, you'd save some money on the repair. PDR is probably a few hundred. It's worth a shot.
