downshifted to 2nd gear from 6th when going 65+ MPH?

if you went into 2nd gear at 65+ mph, you very possibly mechanically overeved the engine. You would have seen the tach shoot to redline when you engaged the clutch.

 

Yes, it would certainly jerk noticeably if you did that. Is this even a serious question?
