Default Would TSB-054 fix affect alignment?

I just got my S2000 back from the dealership. The deceleration buzz was corrected, but I notice that my car is pulling to the right now?! I don't want to complain to the dealership about it because it doesn't seem like the work would affect the alignment, but what do you guys think? I don't know what's involved with replacing the clutch disc (removing the wheels maybe?), but can anyone comment?

Yes - would be affected.

I believe they disconnect the steering linkage to do the TSB. Take it back.

If the Service Manager balks, ask him to look at the manual/service procedure for the TSB. It will show that the steering linkage is disconnected.

Thanks, Chiung. I called the dealership and the guy answering the phone said "The steering linkage will not make the car pull to the right, it would just make the wheel not centered while you're going straight". I told him I'm bringing it in anyways, but any ideas on this?

I agree with you, but can you provide technical details?

Thanks!

Maybe it's just me, but that seems like a really non-intelligent answer. Isn't that part of the alignment procedure, to ensure that when the steering wheel is straight, the front wheels make the car go in a straight line?

If you're used to driving in a straight line with the steering wheel straight in your hands, and it's now turning slightly to the right when you do it, then your alignment is off.

But, maybe it's just me...

umm yeah, I don't have much faith in my local Honda dealership. The tech put the shift gate on backwards (or something) and had to disassemble and reassemble it. Took an extra day. Anyways, it pulls to the right when my hand is off the wheel. And I agree, if they only put the steering wheel back on crooked then it is still shoddy work that needs to be corrected.

On a side note they even said they couldn't duplicate the A/C drip and wouldn't address it. I said "I know, but this happened while it was running for over an hour in the humid summertime environment". I'm just giving up on that one, especially since they would have to evacuate and recharge the A/C.

Who knows, I'll definitely have them drive it around with me tommorrow. I'm continuing to research this so I can be well-informed while I talk to the tech.

Isn't an a/c drip fairly common after operation in humidity? Condensation on the metal lines and compressor?

Unless it's dripping inside the vehicle.

have you checked your tire pressure? it could be that simple...

yeah - check tire pressures first. not sure what else to say, but I do definitely recall that the procedure for the TSB involves the steering linkage. If you take your hands off the wheel, does the wheel stay centered while the car pulls to the right? Or is the wheel also cockeyed?

The fact that you apparently only had the problem after the TSB leads me to think it's TSB related.

The A/C drip was inside the vehicle. It only happened once, but it was on a long trip (where the condensation had time to build up).

I will double-check the tire pressure today. I checked on the way to work and the steering wheel itself seems pretty straight. I will do some interstate runs this afternoon before I take it in.
