Would you convert your S2000 to an EV?
Naw, I think a electrical motor would kind of kill the character of the vehicle.
1) The F20/F22 are high-revving platforms that forces the driver to wring it out to get max performance. Most electrical motors can give almost instantaneous thrust and would kill this part of the platform's character.
2) due to the above, we get a slick, shnickety-schnik close-ratio trans to constantly have to row through. Considering our trans would probably not be able handle the torque output of a HP-equivalent electric motor and the crazy gearing would definitely blow up the diff, we'd lose the fantastic box and may be forced go to *gasp* single speed unit.
On the flipside, a single-speed, torque monster S2000 sounds like a lot of alternative fun though. I just wouldn't hack up a perfectly good one to do it.

I'm not vehemently opposed or anything. I don't think it's sacrilege to put an EV drivetrain in a S2k.
That being said, I do think that the engine/transmission interactions are something that made the S2000 special compared to its contemporaries and even more so to the newer age cars. An EV s2000 would be fun but would just be different than what the car currently is. To me, it depends how easy the swap is, the cost, power levels, weight distribution, seamless integration, etc. The whole package matters. My favorite EV I've seen is the Tesla powered Lotus Evora that Sasha Anis (sp?) built and was shown on the Speed Academy youtube channel. I don't have a fraction of that guy's talent but the point of the example is that the whole package was considered and very well done. If the car, as a package, makes sense with it, I bet it'd be a ton of fun.
