WRX or S2000
Recently, I was thinking about the Vette and the Honda. After reading the responding post so far, I've decided that comparison is really apples and oranges. But, then I continued to think about the S2000 and other cars worthy of comparison. I

Thanks, but am I correct in saying there's a Subaru, not a wagon, turbo-4 coming out. I remember seeing one on Motorweek and I didn't remember it being a wagon.
Aaron, not all WRX's are wagons; in fact, only 1 in 10 produced is a wagon.
The WRX and S2000 are two totally different cars. One of my good friends just bought a WRX, and having driven both, they are both a kick in the pants, but they are not in the same league.
If all I could afford was $25K, wanted something new and fun, and needed a sedan or wagon, I'd look into it for myself in a heartbeat. The looks don't appeal to everyone, but when you're driving, you cant see the outside!

Stock, there is no comparison - S2000 all the way. The thing that REALLY intrigues me about the WRX is the massive tuning potential that car has. The aftermarket is already huge with the latest and greatest in hightech parts that could make the car a real, REAL screamer. Plus you get that cool boxer engine rumble.
All in all, it's a tough choice. The thought of building a WRX myself that can perform as well as a 911 Carrera 4 for a fraction of the cost really excites me. It would be an awesome project for sure. And then I look at the Spoon S2000 and I get confused all over again!
In short, I want them both - bad.

I'd consider the WRX Sti, but it's not available in the US as yet.
The regular WRX is not quick enough for me, the chassis is not as rock solid as the S2000 and the brakes are not large enough.
The WRX Sti or Mitsubishi Evo VII are a different story, and I'd seriously consider them if/when they're made available in the states.

One of the guys I work with got a WRX wagon... NOT that you were talking about a wagon version...
BUT-- IMHO (and just MY opinion), the S2K is a far sexier car... (and will smoke the WRX on the Auto-X track).
There's like an 8k difference I think... so, whatever your budget can afford.. but consider-- 0-60 isn't everything, a Miata is also an excellent choice.

I've always liked "sleepers". That's what interests me about the WRX. The S2000 is a bit obvious. It would be neat to pull up next to someone, who smiles and lifts their nose, only to be trying to catch up for the next 5 seconds.
