WTB: S2000 in PNW
These cars are not all alike, familiarize yourself with the model year differences. While the major facelift change (and bigger engine in North America) occurred in 2004 the cars got better every two years after that as well with major changes in the even-numbered years. Get the car you want not just "whatever is out there." NF Red was available every model year so you're in luck there.

Thanks for the info! My main criteria is facelift, DBW, color. And I believe DBW were available from 06-09. I just sold my E46 M3 to experience an S2K and really liked the DBW in the M3. The open to anything out there was a comment made because I don’t really know much about the cars other than what I’ve researched so I could be surprised. Any advices for this search chuck? Thank you in advanced! Also nice to meet ya!

Specs:
6SPD, carbon black, big 3 done, completely refreshed bushings with poly/street compound, full exhaust, carbon airbox, Napa black leather, carbon rear diffuser, ACS carbon lip, M5 Comp SSK, impulse cloth shifter and handbrake boot, Alpha N tune.
I ended up selling on impulse because I thought cars can come later in life and focus on financials… I was wrong haha. I’d be fine focusing on both. I could not, however, justify buying another one of those and pouring in that money all over again. This is where I heard many great things about S2000’s and here we are. I want to experience many car experiences as I can so it’s time to get into something different!

Nice! I’m a long time E46 M3 owner over here and have an S2K as well. Definitely not going to give up my M3 if I don’t have to. Too much blood sweat and tears put into it and finding another clean example is going to be tough. Sounds like you had a good one (I have impluse cloth as well). Hopefully you find a nice S2K and you’ll have to let me know your thoughts between the two if you get one
My oft posted criteria for finding the S2000 I wanted involved a well thought yet flexible priority list. Mine was headed with 2006 or later as I wanted DBW for the ability to inexpensively lower VTEC for increased mid range power. Since this was #1 on the list it was mandatory so there was no reason to even look at cars that lacked it. Lower criteria was "negotiable." (This saved a lot of time looking at cars.) (My VTEC engages at 3600rpm at WOT compared the long wait for the "power of Dreams" at 6000.)
This was followed by the usual low mileage, no modifications (all OEM), etc. This created a short list. Color was not on my list so your list will be even shorter.
I found the near perfect 2006 car that met all my criteria other than the "all OEM" as the previous owner had put horrible, black (is that redundant?) aftermarket wheels on the car. Not a super problem 10 years ago as OEM wheels were widely available although it took most of a month to get a complete set of correct AP2V2 wheels. Since color was not on my priority list the car I found is, naturally, Silverstone.
2006 was the oldest car I even looked at. 2007 cars are identical. 2008 got suspension changes, instrument panel display "retroed" to resemble the first models, the gorgeous AP2V3 wheels I still covet, TPMS, and revised seating. Details below:

So, I’ve stumbled upon my “perfect” spec. NFR, ‘07 AP2 with black leather interior. It has 109k miles and they’re asking 24.5k but willing to negotiate with me due to non stock exhaust and a few rips in the drivers seat and a single rip in the passenger. Now, I’m sure there’s upholstery kits that can be had for the seats. At 109k miles, NFR and an ‘07 AP2 do we think if I get the price down to 23k that seems fair for both parties? Prices for comps are kind of all over the place
S2Ki has not given me permission to PM. Perhaps I’m too new and you can PM me? I’m still figuring out this forum as I’m more used to NAM3F.
