Came back from the Long Beach IAS - had a great conversation (though short) with Mr. Ichishima (Mr. Spoon) himself. Mr. Ichishima's English was surprisingly good, and he was very pleasant to talk to. He mentioned that Spoon Sports has their own upcoming business strategies (the meat of what I wanted to know) for North America that would be good for everyone - and hopefully to address the supply problem we all face. Mr. Ichishima also said very proudly that the brake system (blue mono-block calipers and rotors) on his racing S2000 had excellent value and power compared with others in the industry (most notably, he mentioned Brembo). Overall I was quite impressed with someone whom I've admired for a long time. Our conversation was a mixture of English and Japanese (broken, on my part
), and fortunately we had Mr. Koki from ZigZag Asia who spoke fluent languages both ways to help with some of the more intricate portions of the conversation. I hope to be able to see Mr. Ichishima again next week after the show is over so we can go over some of the questions you guys asked on that other thread.I highly recommend anyone in town to go see the IAS this weekend.
