Which year AP2 should I buy? 04-05 or 06?

Sorry, but can't agree with you guys on the delay with the DBW. My 06 is just as responsive as my 03 that I traded in.
I found that when I first got my 06, coming out of my 01, I did indeed notice a delay. The throttle didn't respond as fast initially when I would apply the gas hard. However. after about 1500-2000 miles it slowly went away, and now it's gone permanently, and for me personally is indeed just as responsive as my 01. I'm not sure if that's common , but there is no question with my experience I noticed a difference, and I was gonna take the car to the dealer if it continued, but it went away and hasn't come back since.

I personally prefered the 05 over the 06 that I test drove. Hence why i bought the 05. One nice thing about the 06 though is the Hondata reflash. You cant get those with the 2000-2005 ones. I say you should probally go ahead and test drive one of each and decide for yourself.

if you live near snow, traction control is worth paying the difference for. also, the point about existing factory warranty is a good one.

however, 04-05 models are cheaper. most people prefer AP2v1 rims.

DBW isn't anything to get hung up on.
if you want to mod, the reflash or KW high-boost kit are great benefits. some people prefer the cable response, others like me don't notice/don't care. and if you really care about response, just get I/H/E and such.
also, i've got no idea if stock MY06+ have any more ponies, but i'd bet ECU changes/tweaks would be to blame for any differences, not DBW itself.

DBW offers traction control if you are interested. And 06+ did put more whp down on the dyno than AP2V1 sorry to bursts you bubbles guys! Check Giles website, all the 06+ put down 235whp+ stock and 240whp+ with tune while 04-05 only put down ~230ish before and ~235whp+ w/ mods after tune. The second time Giles came around to tune for ATL, with just 70mm testpipe+70mm T1R I put down 251whp 180tq. For some reason the 06+ are just more powerful, not by much though. Its not a big deal but I just thought I'd share something interesting I noticed.

I haven't driven an 04-05 much but the 06 was much nicer for DD than the 00. I didn't mind the DBW and couldn't tell much even during a Canyon run through Malibu.

I'm the OP
thanks for all the response guys i really appreciate it.

i actually used to own a MY00 and I loved it but it was too harsh compared to my friend's 07. my friend's 07 was very comfortable (compared to 00) I did not drive it long enough and at the time i did not know about DBW so I wasn't paying attention to throttle response so I don't know how it was..but I will test drive it before I make my decision

I think i'm leaninng toward 06..i wouldn't mind those additions since they could potentially be really helpful.

I also wanted to know if there were any changes to transmission.
does anyone know?

I don't believe they changed anything for the 2006 model as far as transmission goes. I know for the '04-present they shortened the first four gears, and lengthened the last two. Basically the ratios are changed for acceleration and the last two for highway driving. That's my .02
