Thanks guys. I really just want something different (this being my 2nd Z now).. Also as much driving as I'm doing recently, I need something that's not going to depreciate to fast. I'd like to use the s2k as just a nice DD for about 2-3 years then get an Evo X.

Last question, on average how much would you guys say it runs to boost these cars? Doubt i'd go that route.. but if I do get the mod bug who knows.. For the 350z, it's hard to stay under $8k when going turbo..

I would recommend going to the FI segment of the forum. But the bigger question is why would you need to boost until you have been able to fully exploit the car in stock form?

I have been tracking for 2+ years with this car and am just now beginning to push the boundaries. Boosting seems like an unnecessary waste of money. This car will outhandle your Z and until you fully utilize that is just a waste.

Like I said, doubt I'd go that route, but in case i ever wanted to, just wanted to know the average cost.. i'll check the f/i sections. thanks.

and i do agree stock for stock the S will outhandle the Z. I think with the proper suspension mods though it can be a different ball game. Although I think its more the driver, between these two cars.

if you go mod for mod suspension wise, the S is still going to spank the Z...Z's are just too heavy

I don't have any personal knowledge of boosting the S, but I would guess about the same 6-8k range when I did my dream shopping. The following examples are probably on the high end so bare with me as this would help you estimate.

Example 1: SOS s/c kit starts at $5,395.00 (per their website) and however much else you need for the other parts and upgrades.

Example 2: Stage 2 from Jotech for $13k. CT S/C plus i/h/c/e and tune and labor.

And then there are the random used kits you see out there for $2-3k.

Edit* and probably similar for turbo kits too.

Example 3: Greddy Turbo Kit here for $6340

The fact you will drop 500# from the Z to the S should more than compensate for the hp difference.

Also, the hp is the same for 04-09. the F20 has shown to be a slightly lower TQ and HP motor than the F22
I do 217 stock....

Just so you know s2k spanks 03-05 350z's in straight line and twistys. The HR's are a diff story though, but then again 350z engine is about 60% bigger than an s2k engine />

And I did 191 stock. But that's on a Mustang...and there aren't many S2000s around here that have a higher baseline than that.

The number itself doesn't mean much. If you can say the dyno type (probably dynapack or dynojet) then it means more...but still not a lot.
