The control pods hold the remote radio controls on the left and the heater & A/C controls on the right.

I can't remember which year(s) S2000 has the high-gloss black ones.

Anyone know for sure?

I believe it's '04 and up.

 

high gloss? 06+ only. the previous ap2's had the silverish ones. not black like 06.

my 2004 has black metal backing on dash behind controls for sure, i have one.

 

I think only AP1s have the silverish colour. My 2005 has the glossy black colour too ...

 

Hmmm... Is this a trick question? As far as I know, ALL S2000's ever produced for North America have the heater & A/C controls on the right of the steering wheel.

I think the MY00 and maybe 01 had black trim also. I think the silver trim was added to USDM s2000's in 02. I quess they switched back in 06.

EDIT: The trim that runs around the entire bezel/cluster right?

 

What I need to know is do the '03 and '04 have the same high gloss black as the '05.

The early models through '01 had black, but it's kind of a shiny metallic black. Very different from the "new" black. My '02 has the graphite colored control pods, which I want to replace with the "new" black ones.

The control pods are expensive, that's why I want to make sure I order the right ones.
